Stolen (Etheree)

priceless art–

a dreamers’ ache—

Antiquity sold

stings like venomous asp!

Treacherys’ stolen repose….

Forgiveness curdles my stomach

as I vomit out expletives!

Generations raped from my stewards’ grasp.

I wrote a series of poems following a devastating robbery.  This poem describes my feelings after losing a family heirloom entrusted to me.

Etheree Poetic Form: 10 line stanza, each line increasing the syllable by 1.

Devastation (Cinquain)

Shell shock

Dawning horror

Crushing swift agony

Expletives release hard grief

Harsh reality dawns

Torrents of tears

In an earlier poem HERE I discussed a huge fight after finding a 300 year old priceless item stolen from my safe.  This poem describes my feelings as the devastation settled into my mind.

Cinquain: A Cinquain is written using a pattern. This type of poem only has five lines. Each line follows a specific pattern.  I did a mirror Cinquain in this poem.  The primary poem has Line 1: 2 syllables Line 2: 4 syllables Line 3: 6 syllables Line 4: 8 syllables Line 5: 2 syllables

Tossed Away (Etheree)

Years of Loyalty, Plans for Future Bliss

Tossed Away with Scribbled Note

Rudderless Unravelled Life Plan

Benumbed Pain Slumbers Within

Swallowing Throat-Ached Tears

Holding Passions’ Grip

This Memory

Longed for

I had a devastating event a long time ago.  My boyfriend of 2 1/2 years broke up with me by letter, throwing me into suicidal depression.  While we have forgiven each other, now and then the pain resurfaces.  This poem releases some of the pain in poetic form.
